Our Story

When most people think of pine, cedar and other outdoorsy scents, they usually think of the holidays since that's when most of those types of scents are heavily promoted. But to us outdoorsy people who get out on the trails regularly, those are scents that we experience year-round, winter, spring, summer and fall. When hiking on a trail high in the mountains in the middle of summer, you can experience the natural scents of pine, evergreen, oak, cedar and more.

The beautiful California Eastern Sierra is one of such places to experience those captivating aromas of the great outdoors. It's a place that I affectionately know as my "Happy Place". I have embarked on many grand adventures in the Sierra, including a couple of trips to the summit of Mt. Whitney, the tallest peak in the Lower 48 states. Sierra Princess is the culmination of my love of candles, the Sierra and the great outdoors in general.

I want these candles to bring joy into your home and your life, just like the Sierra brings joy to me and countless others. While there is nothing like actually being there, standing among the majestic peaks, the running streams and rivers, the cascading waterfalls pummeling down into a perfectly arched rainbow, you can fill your home or office with some of that grandeur that will both relax and captivate you at the same time.

The name "Sierra Princess" is a nickname that was given to me by my friends during the summer of 2015 when I led a series of group hikes in the Sierra. It didn't take long for me to come up with a name for this company. The name just came to me, and it was at that moment I knew I needed to make this line about the outdoors, the Sierra in particular. It just fit. Also, each one of these candles has a story because they were inspired by actual adventures.

The adventures that inspired this line aren't just some events that occurred in the past. There are still new adventures to be had and, as a result, there will be new additions to the collection, along with more mountain lore. Whether you're an active adventurer yourself, someone who just loves the outdoors, or someone who fancies outdoor-type scents, there is something here for you.
